Ware-Butler Inc. Lumber & Building Supplies has recently purchased longstanding community staple Thompson’s Hardware, located in West Enfield. The purchase was made final in mid-November.
Ware-Butler Inc., who recently joined the Pleasant River Lumber (PRL) family of companies looks to make this their fourth location. The company’s Waterville location has been in existence since the 1920’s. Decades later, they added their Madison and Livermore Falls stores in the early to mid-1960’s. “We are excited to now have a presence in Penobscot County,” Richard Giguere, CEO of Ware-Butler Inc. said.
Thompson’s Hardware has been owned and operated by Ray Thompson for over 40 years. He has served the Enfield community and surrounding areas since he opened his doors. Ray now steps away into retirement.
Thompson’s Hardware, under the Ware-Butler Inc. umbrella, will continue the same great service to their customers and the community. New ownership will be working hard to enhance the customer experience and are looking toward expansion by offering lumber and building materials in the near future.
